WRT Nancy Clifton draft[edit]

Hello, I just submitted my new draft for Nancy Clifton and I hope that my change of style and addition of references will be acceptable Chevelue (talk) 14:20, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Cepedwebit (15:10, 20 April 2024)[edit]

Hello, how do I create an article on Wikipedia --Cepedwebit (talk) 15:10, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Extremely belatedly and somewhat incompletely: I generally suggest not creating articles you have a COI with. COI editors tend to do so for PR purposes, something better accomplished by your own website, over which you have total editorial control. Wikipedia explicitly forbids exercising total editorial control over any article (WP:OWN). Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 14:18, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Pagemover rights[edit]

Would like to me to extend this user rights to you, given your activity in the WP:RMC queue? – robertsky (talk) 09:43, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Can you grant me them temporarily, for a month? If I want them permanently, I will go to WP:PERM/PM (whose page history for the last month shows only Primefac granting the tools). Also, thanks for your April Fools joke last month at Wikipedia talk:Requested moves/Archive 35#Request to close all outstanding RM discussions carte blanche. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 11:30, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Granted. See the templatized verbiage at {{Page mover granted}}. :D Yeah. It was a poke at the current situation, close to 2 months on, and we have yet to resolve the outstanding issues around it. xD – robertsky (talk) 14:01, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Hopefully, the NCROY situation will be resolved before next April Fools! XD Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 14:53, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please add some comment to the closing summary about the reasoning for the choice to capitalize the 'A'? For recording of the decision at WT:MOSCAPS#Concluded, I would like to understand the decision – e.g. if it was considered simply a secondary issue. — BarrelProof (talk) 23:50, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Aimed for brevity there. Let me know if you have questions. Thank you, Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 02:51, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Mark Dannells (17:20, 27 May 2024)[edit]

Hello! My name is Mark Dannells, and I am interested in creating an artist page for myself. I am a GRAMMY Nominated, EMMY winning guitarist/producer/songwriter. My name is mentioned in at least 4 pages (Angie Aparo, Yacht Rock Revue, John Driskell Hopkins, and Y-O-U.), and it would be great to have a page linked to those. I have toured as a guitarist for several national acts such as Skid Row, Butch Walker, Brand New Immortals, and my current band Yacht Rock Revue. Yacht Rock Revue will be touring large amphitheaters and arenas this summer with Train and REO Speedwagon, and I would like to get my page published before we head out on the road. I can refer to the many tutorials about creating a page, but I was wondering if there was anything else to consider before I got started. Thanks! --Mark Dannells (talk) 17:20, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Answered at User talk:Mark Dannells#Your submission at Articles for creation: sandbox (May 27) by Rotideypoc41352 (talk) 20:50, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Rotideypoc41352,

In your round robin moves, you created a circular redirect here. Also, please check "What links here" when deciding whether or not to leave a redirect as these page moves created a lot of broken redirects for both the article and the talk page when you moved them without leaving a redirect. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 21:28, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I had fixed all four redirects to the articlespace within five minutes (!) of suppressing the redirect as a recent mistaken page move done by someone else (per the page log). If given another five minutes (or fewer), I would have spent the time replying here to fixed all the redirects to the talk page also. At this point, I don't see the point of doing that or deleting as a mistaken redirect, if your recreation of the redirect be a declining of my implied WP:G6 or WP:R3 request. I do genuinely appreciate the reminder; I just would have liked five more minutes to do the cleanup. Thank you. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 21:40, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Fifteen minutes; I misread the time stamp. The move was 21:11 and my last double redirect fix at 21:26. I had the WhatLinksHere special page open right after my move and had not refreshed it since then. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 21:52, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Note to future me: just fix the redirects beforehand. I spent ten of those minutes were spent evaluating a related move request at RMT because the redirect suppression made it look really awful with angry red text, and I didn't want to confuse the RMT regulars.
